Jumping into the deep end is typically defined as "If you jump or are thrown into the deep end you start doing something new or challenging without help or preparation." I've always viewed it as going "all in" with something new, potentially something scary because it's unfamiliar or uncomfortable - not hesitating, or wading in by taking baby steps towards it. Just going for it. When I was in high school I used to write about living my life with no regrets - not wanting to get to the end of my life and look back to see all the things I *could* have done, *could* have experienced, but didn't. As I've grown (aged, matured), I realize that it's not always possible to live without regrets. But, it is possible to live in a way that minimizes them, by taking chances, grabbing opportunities, not letting fear be what controls choices and decisions. I've come to call this "Living in the Deep End," because to me it's living life by jumping into the deep end of things time and again. This painting represents this ideal and adventure.
